Learning Ecologies in the Digital Era: A Challenge for Primary Education in Low-Income Contexts

This research focused on the study of learning ecologies utilizing digital technology. The qualitative methodology used has allowed analysis interactions children establish with technologies and manner in which they construct a ecology. A total 46 12-year-olds, their families, teachers participated this study. children’s schools homes were neighborhoods where structural situations poverty social cultural marginality concurred. integrated researchers into community, access to events that community was developing through for two years. information complemented by development systematic observations interviews each participant. participants’ multimodal linguistic literacy practices analyzed using semiotics approach. results describe interpret took place between participants technologies. identified processes recontextualization, transduction, transcontextualization discourses developed frame ecologies.
